Mizo CM calls on state bureaucrats support to fulfil mission

AIZAWL, MAY 3: Mizoram chief minister, Lal Thanhawla interacting with senior government officers at Vanapa on Monday sought the support of senior government officers in carrying forward various projects, schemes, programmes undertaken by the government.  The cooperation of officers at various departments is very crucial for the smooth

 functioning of the state government, Lal Thanhawla said and called on the to take moral responsibilities in pushing forward various developmental works.
Commenting on the New Land Use Policy (NLUP), the CM termed the NLUP as a government flagship programme to uplift and rescue hundreds of poor farmers who are in the grip of poverty.
'If the programme fails to achieve its goal, then it will be a very shameful thing for the state government as well as for the communities. We have to carry forward to implement this programme as soon as possible' the CM opined.
The chief minister also highlighted various measures initiated by the state government besides centrally sponsored schemes and Prime Minister flagship programmes during the interaction and sought the assistance and cooperation of all concern so that all these programmes benefits the targeted group.
On the pay structure of government employees, Lal Thanhawla lauded the government employees for having patience notwithstanding the delay in implementing the Sixth Pay Commission in the state.
He informed the gathering that it has been delayed because of some problems in the pay structure and the work in this regard has been in progress and hoped that it would be implemented very shortly.
State Home Minister R Lalzirliana also speaking on the occasion hailed the people's co-operation in maintaining peace and harmony in the state. He urged all officers to work diligently in their respective departments.
Also speaking Agriculture minister H Liansailova said the state government has been deeply affected by the economic recession stating, "If we do not play recovery role in this regard then the Mizos would suffer major setback in the future'.
The meeting was also attended by PL Thanga, IAS (Rtd), vice chairman of NLUP Implementing Board, Chief Secretary Vanhela Pachuau and other high official of state government.
