NSCN (I-M) "ato kilonser" Th. Muivah said solution to the Naga political issue would have to be based on the history of the Nagas while adding that solution may not be possible in one go though the door must be kept open.
Speaking at a function held in the Viswema village council hall here Wednesday, Muivah opined that the government of India was "afraid of the unique Naga history" and proposals to amend the Indian constitution was rejected.
Muivah also disclosed that though there was an attempt to solve the Naga political problem, some leaders were unsure whether they would be able to obtain 2/3rd majority vote for the proposal in parliament.
"Both sides are now clear and God is with us" he said adding Nagas should not be afraid of India "we know the Indians".
Muivah also said people were not happy with the NSCN as many left God and asked "should Nagas lose their nation because of the weakness of the NSCN?" Muivah asked every Naga to contribute whatever they could for the Naga nation. He also said the land and people are the greatest gift of God and are inseparable as man and politics.
Muivah also lauded the Naga National Council (NNC) and said that if there was no NNC or leader like late A.Z. Phizo, Nagas would have been a lost people. He also termed the 1951 Naga plebiscite as "the right thing at the right time" and said that Nagaland was a gift of God and not from British or India.
"God has given the people and land, if we've compromised, we're a lost people," he said.
Muivah was enroute his village, Somdal, but after a last minute change, decided to halt for the night at Viswema village in view of the situation created by the Manipur government which deployed large numbers of forces to prevent his entry into Manipur.
Ibobi summoned to Delhi
Though Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has agreed to Muivah's request to visit his birth place Somdal village in Ukhrul, the Ibobi Singh-led Manipur government has imposed hurdles to prevent him from entering Manipur. It was learnt that the PMO has summoned Ibobi Singh but the latter has reportedly ignored the summon.
Meanwhile, highly placed sources in the NSCN-(I-M) disclosed that the PMO had offered to fly Muivah by a special chopper but he has declined the offer. Muivah's departure to his native village will be finalized on Thursday after communication from the Prime Ministers Office.
Muivah revisits his 'birthplace'

Viswema (Kohima): For the folks of Viswema, the revisit of NSCN (I-M) Ato Kilonser Th. Muivah to the village, where he was appointed as general secretary of the Naga National Council, nearly fifty years ago.
Muivah arrived Viswema village Wednesday along with his wife, Ikris Muivah, after 47 years to a rousing reception where elders and contemporaries embraced him in nostalgia and joy.
At the reception Wednesday, Viswema village held a special mass prayer for the NSCN (I-M) supremo, where several grey-haired were seen shedding tears.
"Viswema is like a birthplace for Muivah. It was here that he was appointed general secretary of the NNC here," said 76-year old Daniel Kikhi.
"We believe he (Muivah) had come to seek blessings from our people. Our blessing is with him," he added. In 1964, Muivah was nominated by late Vizol Koso, who later became chief minister Nagaland and appointed general secretary of the NNC in Tuzol Sokha, a forested area located adjacent to the village.
For 66 year-old Vizeho, a retired school teacher, the revisit of Muivah is significant. "The NNC meeting in 1964 is historic as the Naga struggle gained momentum ever since," he said. K Krozel, 95, a head GB and the oldest man of the village has profound memories of Muivah's first stay in Viswema.
